F.A.Q's

Who is on the Ontario Wedding Association board?

The OWA currently has 3 volunteer board members, and will grow the team to reach all corners of the wedding industry in Ontario as the association grows.

Our Co-President's are Neil from Nitro Music, Heather from Red Bicycle Paper Co., and Amy from A Nash Photograph.

If you’re interested in becoming a board member, please let us know. We ask that you can commit to:

· Serve on the board for a minimum of 1 year

· Up to 6 in-person or Zoom meetings per year

· Additional meetings leading up to the Awards Gala

Is the Association right for me?

Belonging to the Association is like belonging to a family. We have a code of ethics that all members must agree to, and follow, and we encourage you to take part in the many networking and education events we host.

The Association is right for you if you:

· Own a registered business in Ontario;

· Have business insurance to protect your clients (some categories exempt);

· Serve engaged couples directly by offering a service they use on their wedding day; and

· You want to network, educate yourself, and stay informed about the Wedding Industry.

How do I become a member of the Association?

Simply fill out the application form and provide required proof of business registration, and insurance. All applications are reviewed by the board, and accepted or declined based on the criteria listed above.

What is the Ontario Wedding Association Awards Gala?

Our vision is to celebrate the wins of the Wedding Industry, and recognize the professionals in Ontario who have demonstrated a significant commitment to positive business development, diversity, high quality of work, and community involvement.

This year we will be accepting submissions from Ontario Wedding Industry Professionals. Submissions open March 16th, 2020, and run until March 30th, 2020. Blind voting will occur on April 6th. The finalists in each category will be announced April 9th, 2020.

All submissions must include evidence of your business, which can include company history, community involvement, reviews and anything you feel would give insight into your company. The entries are then presented to a panelist of judges across Canada, to be blind-judged.

When is the Awards Gala being hosted?

Our Awards Gala is still in the planning process. We hope to host the Gala in Cambridge, Ontario on May 5, 2020.
